How Much is Relationship Therapy in Orlando, FL, CO, SC, & VT

Fees and Payment Policies

  • Please see the Equitable Pricing Model for details on fees.

  • I allow two (2) last-minute cancellations and rescheduling without notice. You can miss up to 2 appointments per year without a fee. After that, fees apply:

    • 3rd missed appointment: $50

    • 4th missed appointment: $100

    • 5th missed appointment: $200 (Full session rate) / consideration for transfer of care

    *FOR SCHEDULED INTENSIVES AND RETREATS:

A 50% refundable deposit is required at booking, with the remaining balance due on Day 1. Cancelling less than 2 weeks before Day 1 incurs total balance charges.

    • If you cancel the Intensive/Retreat within 2 weeks of Day 1, you will be charged the total amount of the balance.

  • I don’t offer any of those but I do practice the equitable pricing model to allow people to receive support that fits within their financial situation.

However, I do partner with some organizations to help offset the cost of therapy for clients. Please see partnerships by scrolling down this page.

    1. Simply put - client autonomy. I believe your treatment should be based upon your unique needs rather than determined by some CEO on a yacht who doesn’t give a shit about you.

    2. By paying privately, I can best ensure your confidentiality, goals for therapy, and treatment plan when I’m able to practice independently from insurance companies.

    3. Insurance companies also require that I record and share your diagnosis and treatment plan in order to receive payment. This information then becomes part of your permanent medical record which at times can have negative consequences related to employment or when you are seeking new medical or life insurance. (I think we can all agree, insurance is the worst)

    4. Insurance companies usually require therapists to follow approved treatment methods (like CBT, which I find cringe-worthy most of the time) and often limit the number of sessions that a client can receive.

Equitable Pricing Model for Therapy Services

At Sweet Love Counseling, I believe in making therapy accessible and equitable for everyone. I use a tier rate structure, empowering you to choose a self pay pricing option that aligns with your financial situation, ensuring that you receive the support you need without added stress.

Why Choose Your Own Pricing?

I understand that financial situations vary greatly from person to person. This approach is rooted in trust and respect, acknowledging your ability to assess your own needs and circumstances.

I aim to eliminate financial barriers and promote inclusivity by allowing you to choose a rate that suits you. Your choice helps create a sustainable, fair system that benefits all.

I appreciate your honesty and commitment to this community-driven model and thank you for being a part of this mission to make therapy accessible for all.

How to determine your rate to pay

Please note, household income is NOT the only variable used to determine your fee. Please see various criteria below to consider where you fall on the spectrum.

  • Designed for folx who may be experiencing financial hardship. This option ensures that everyone has access to quality therapy, regardless of their current economic status.

    Consider this rate if you:

    • support children or other dependents whether single or partnered

    • can cover some essential expenses but often stress about meeting your needs or don’t have much leftover each month

    • struggle with unexpected costs

    • have medical expenses that are not regularly covered by health insurance

    • are paid at or near minimum wage with limited or no ability to save and rely on community resources for support

    • have immigration related expenses

    • are entering or returning to the workforce from incarceration and have been denied employment as a result

    • experience discrimination by being underemployed or unemployment

    • are a descendent from enslaved people or indigenous people.

  • This rate is for those who can more comfortably afford therapy without causing financial hardship.

Choosing the Sustainable Rate allows me to provide quality care while maintaining the long-term stability of the therapy practice.

    Consider this rate if you:

    • Earn a steady income with the ability to pay basic needs and some extras like dining out, buying new clothes by carefully budgeting

    • are a dual or multiple income household able to cover regular expenses and budget for small luxuries or emergencies.

    • struggle to easily pay for larger expenses and need to save up (vacations, home repairs, etc.)

    • have income unpredictability due to external circumstances but still able to cover basic needs and pull from a savings to manage instability gaps

  • This rate reflects the true cost of providing therapy services. It supports the sustainability of the practice while offering you comprehensive care.

Paying this rate helps subsidize lower rates for others who need it. It's a way to contribute to the community and ensure access for everyone.

    Consider this rate if you:

    • meet all your basic needs and can put money towards savings or retirement regularly

    • engage in hobbies, leisure activities, or luxuries without financial worry

    • have enough for an emergency fund

    • are able to spend extra on vacations or experiences

    • own a home and can manage mortgage payments and can make updates every so often with room left in your budget

    • own and maintain a reliable car and can afford upgrades every so often without stress

  • For those who have the ability and desire to contribute more, this rate helps subsidize the reduced rate for others, fostering a community of care and support.

    Consider this rate if you:

    • do not have dependents

    • can afford your monthly student loan payment or have already paid them off

    • have flexibility in your job to miss a significant amount of work and can still pay bills for the next month

    • do not need to work to meet your needs

    • are able to accommodate unexpected travels for emergencies

    • can afford high ticket expenses like luxury vacations, spontaneous spending, or significant purchases without compromising savings or future plans

    • often contribute to philanthropy or community support
